FIFA World Cup 2014 Qualifying - European Region
PORTUGAL v N IRELAND
A dissapointing night fro Portugal where minnows Northern Ireland spoilt the Cristiano Ronaldo's celebrations for his 100th international cap with a shock 1-1 draw against Portugal in Porto.
Michael O'Neill's men took a shock lead on the half-hour when Niall McGinn capped a fine counter-attack. Ronaldo, and his illustrious team-mates, dominated possession and chances both before and after that but had to wait until the 80th minute for Helder Postiga to turn home a scrappy equaliser.

HSBC World Series Sevens Tournament
The first round of the HSBC World Series Sevens Tournament took place at the Gold Coast in Australia this weekend and there were familiar names on the winning podium again. Fiji beating New Zealand in an exhilarating final 32-14.
For Portugal it was not possible to maintain the form they established in the summer World Cup event held in the Algarve where they beat Spain in the final. A disappointing group performance where they beaten by Wales 19-12, Argentina 26-0 and France 12-5 meant they were straight into the shield play-offs where they came across a resurgent Scottish team who beat Portugal comfortably 33-0. Scotland went on to win the Shield Final even more comfortably beating the USA 40-5.
For Portugal they now need to re-group and start their preparations for the next tournament starting in Dubai on 30 November.
Better news for our Iberian neighbours Spain who beat England in the Bowl Final 19-14 after overcoming Wales in the semi final 26-17.
The Portuguese Squad performing in Australia was :
Aderito Esteves 1
Duarte Moreira 2
David Mateus 3
Pedro Leal 4
Diogo Miranda 5
Frederico Oliveira 6
Francisco Vieira Almeida 7
Antonio Almeida 8
Luis Sousa 9
Murteira Manuel * 10
Joao Lino * 11
Miguel Lucas * 12

Portugal Masters 2012 Oceanico Victoria golf course in Vilamoura
After 4 great days of golf in fine Portuguese weather, the final round was played out yesterday and 25 year old Irishman Shane Lowry became only the second player to win on the European Tour as both an amateur and a professional.
Englishman Ross Fisher, the leader after the first two rounds needed a birdie on the 18th hole to take the title. Unfortunately for him he missed the the long put and then missed the shorter 5 ft put that would have forced a play-off, leaving Shane to take the title and £300,000 by one shot.
